Oregon basketball players Dominic Artis and Ben Carter have been suspended from the team for selling team apparel, as first reported by Campus Insiders. The two players did not accompany the team on a trip to South Korea for its season-opening game against Georgetown on Friday.
"Ben and Dominic are two good young men who made a poor decision that was against NCAA rules,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said in a statement. “I feel that both regret their decisions and the impact that it has on their teammates and our university."
Along with three former Ducks players, Artis and Carter sold team-issued Nike gear, reported Campus Insiders.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Guard Dominic Artis and forward Ben Carter have been suspended by the No. 19 Oregon Ducks for violating NCAA rules against selling team-issued apparel.
The length of the suspensions has not been determined. Artis and Carter did not accompany the team on its trip to South Korea for the Ducks' opener against Georgetown on Friday.
Oregon did not provide details about what the players sold. Both must donate the value of the apparel to charity.
Oregon said it uncovered the violation internally and reported it to both the Pac-12 and the NCAA.
Artis averaged 8.5 points and 3.2 assists last season, while Carter averaged 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds. They have applied for reinstatement.
