Sarah Jessica Parker To Design For Halston

After some speculation, Halston has announced that it has signed a design deal with actress Sarah Jessica Parker, WWD reports:

She is expected to take an active design role, possibly even that of creative director, for Halston Heritage, the company's just-launched secondary collection that features updated archival Halston pieces at contemporary price points.

The deal is said to also include an equity stake in Halston or some other executive role for the 44-year-old Parker, although that could not be confirmed at press time.

In September, Parker became the face of Halston, but she has stolen the fashion spotlight since the beginning of the Sex and the City series--thanks to the quirky stylings of Patricia Field--and there's rumored to be quite a few Halston pieces in the upcoming film. Parker also launched her own Bitten clothing line and has a successful fragrance collection.
