Arctic Monkeys Cover Lou Reed's 'Walk On The Wild Side' In Liverpool

Arctic Monkeys Cover Lou Reed Classic

The music world has been awash with tributes to the late Lou Reed, and Arctic Monkeys offered their own memorial on Monday night by performing the legend's "Walk on the Wild Side." The band's Liverpool crowd erupted into applause at the start of the song, which was one of Reed's most popular solo singles.

"Wild Side," produced by David Bowie, hit No. 16 on the Hot 100 as the lead single off Reed's second solo album, 1972's "Transformer." The track's success came despite its controversial lyrics about prostitution and oral sex, some of which were edited by Reed's label when the song was officially released as a single. In the wake of Reed's death, the song re-entered the iTunes chart along with "Perfect Day." Treat yourself to the Arctic Monkeys' take below.
