With NBA legend Michael Jordan's amazing 56,000-square-foot Chicago-area mansion set to hit the auction block next month, Bulls fans have been buzzing with curiosity about the massive estate.
That curiosity recently inspired NBC's "Today" show to get a rare peek inside the basketball star's sprawling Highland Park, Ill. compound in what was said to be the first-ever TV tour of the home.
The tour, hosted by Willie Geist, offers a closer glimpse at many of the home's most glamorous nooks and crannies, which are many. The home comes with a whopping nine bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, a beauty salon, a stocked fishing pool, a private putting green, a gym, a massive wine cellar, a humidor and (of course) an indoor NBA-regulation-sized basketball court, which Geist used to shoot some hoops while wearing a No. 23 jersey.
"I got the golden ticket," Geist said in the segment, drawing the comparison between Jordan's mansion and Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.
There is no minimum reserve on the auction, set to take place Nov. 22, but a $250,000 deposit is required to enter a bid on the home, which first hit the market in February 2012 at $29 million but had been reduced in price earlier this year to $21 million. The home comes fully furnished.
