The Favre Watch is back on, all day.
The St. Louis Rams may be having a problem finding a reliable quarterback with starter Sam Bradford sidelined by a knee injury, but they don't seem to be having any trouble getting media coverage for their search. The same team that reportedly "discussed signing Tim Tebow," has reportedly reached out to Brett Favre.
Citing unnamed league sources, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Thursday morning that St. Louis called up Favre -- and not Tebow -- after Bradford went down with a torn ACL in his left knee.
Notoriously fickle when it comes to retirement, the 44-year-old Favre hasn't played since December 2010.
Favre joined Andy Pollin and Jonny Saraceno on SportsTalk 570 in Washington D.C. on Thursday morning to discuss the ESPN report as well as his life after football. The three-time NFL MVP told Pollin and Saraceno that the Rams reached out to his agent Bus Cook. More importantly, Favre made it clear that he is not coming out of retirement.
"I've had enough," Favre told told Pollin and Saraceno. "I had enough a long time ago."
During the interview, Favre also revealed that "a couple teams have inquired" about him returning to the field in addition to the Rams. Again, he sounded like a man who is done playing.
"It's flattering, but there's no way I'm going to do that," Favre said.
