A Texas high school teacher who became the center of controversy last week when parents complained of her nude modeling past has reportedly been fired from her job teaching Spanish.
According to the Dallas Observer, Cristy Nicole Deweese was fired last week.
Deweese, 21, reportedly texted Inside Edition, "They fired me!" Oct. 10.
She also referred to her dismissal in tweets, saying that she would miss her students.
I don't know why there's all this discussion about whether I really got fired or not. Why would I lie about something like that?
@Ryer_envirodes I miss the kids so I'm sad about that, but otherwise I'm doing fine. Thank you :)
Requests for comment from the Dallas Independent School District were not immediately returned.
Deweese, 21, posed for Playboy when she was 18, before she was ever a teacher. At least one parent complained after students discovered photos of Deweese posing nude and in a simulated lesbian sex scene.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the parent said that the teacher's past distracted students from learning, and that they were using their phones to look at her photos and video of Deweese while on campus.
Deweese has declined all interviews until Nov. 8, but apparently she's already interviewing for other jobs.
