'Survivor': Wild Tribal Council Brings Epic Shift In Power

Tribal council took a wild and unexpected turn on "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" this week. It was no surprise that Tadhana lost -- they've yet to win any challenge. It was how things played out, and who emerged as an unexpected power player, that was surprising.

Brad Culpepper had been running the tribe virtually since day one. But last week, he blindsided one member of his five-guy alliance. This left at least one of the remaining four feeling a little uneasy. Especially considering Brad kept emphasizing the significant value of keeping in tribe members who still had loved ones on the other side. Caleb was the only one of his tribe who didn't, as his boyfriend Colton had quit in the previous episode.

When Brad suggested the strategic value of this again at tribal council, Caleb made his move. He announced in front of everyone that he could no longer trust Brad and that he would be voting to eliminate Brad from the game. As expected, with the two remaining girls also voting for Brad, it was a tie. But in a re-vote, Brad was sent to Redemption Island.

Buddy TV's Gina Pusateri pointed out that he could make his way back into the game still, which would be fun to watch. Plus, he now has to spend time with the two people who probably hate him the most in the game -- current residents, John and Candice Cody.

Jeff Probst dubbed it one of the most shocking votes in the history of the game, and potentially one of the biggest power shifts ever seen. Entertainment Weekly's Dalton Ross agreed. "It was the type of mad last minute scramble hardly ever seen on the show, especially considering no hidden immunity idol was involved.”

The game is just getting started and already it's crazy on "Survivor: Blood vs. Water," Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
