D.C. Starbucks Offers Cash To Furloughed Federal Workers

Just a day after Starbucks CEO Howard Shultz called on business leaders to speak out in opposition to the government shutdown that has left about 800,000 federal employees temporarily jobless, CNBC reports that a D.C. Starbucks is collecting cash to support furloughed workers in need.

Starbucks isn't the only business supporting federal workers. Fitness club operator Town Sports, for example, is giving government employees free access to its facilities, and several bars and restaurants in the D.C. area are offering discounts to workers as well.
