Christie Brinkley may be nearing 60, but she's still got some of the most enviable locks in the industry. No wonder she's been tapped to create a line of wigs and hair extensions for HairUWear.
The supermodel unveiled her Hair2Wear Christie Brinkley Collection, which includes 10 wigs and nine hairpieces, last week, telling Women's Wear Daily just why she's landed in the wig business. "It started when I was doing 'Chicago' [the musical]," she said. "I thought it would be fun to leave the theater in a wig and it would be convenient and I wouldn't keep people waiting. I had so much fun with the products, I thought why should I keep this all to myself."
How kind of Christie. After all, the 59-year-old has quite the head of hair -- perhaps the pieces in her line could help us regular folks get a va-va-voom supermodel look. In addition to her great hair, Christie brought another asset to the HairUWear collaboration, says brand president Michael Napolitano. "We wanted someone with a really heavy impact on fashion," he told WWD.
