Not only are national parks closed at home, but tourists abroad will have a hard time visiting any of the 24 U.S.-run military cemeteries that are sprinkled throughout Europe. The cemeteries--among them, the Normandy American Cemetery--are run by the American Battle Monuments Commission and are closed during the shutdown.
