Stephen Colbert Stages 'Crossfire' Parody With Big Bird And Oscar The Grouch

Colbert, Big Bird & Oscar The Grouch Parody 'Crossfire'

The "Sesame Street" gang stopped by "The Colbert Report" last night, the night after appearing on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" to sing with The Roots.

In a segment that would have worked just as well on "Sesame Street" as it did on "Colbert," Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch appear in a parody of the newly-resurrected cable news show "Crossfire." But in the spirit of all of Jim Henson's creations, they have a tough time understanding Stephen's instruction to fight just for the sake of fighting.

Now, Newt Gingrich ending an episode of "Crossfire" by belting out a stirring rendition of "I Love Trash"? Now, that would be quality programming.
