'Foxcatcher' Trailer: Steve Carell Like You've Never Seen Him Before

Steve Carell Gets Serious In 'Foxcatcher'

Those who have long thought Steve Carell was capable of more than just laughs will want to check out the first trailer for "Foxcatcher." The film, directed by Bennett Miller ("Capote," "Moneyball"), stars Carell as John du Pont, the schizophrenic du Pont chemical heir who murdered Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz (played in the film by Mark Ruffalo) in 1996. Carell's transformation has already drawn some Oscar buzz, and the "Foxcatacher" trailer does nothing to disabuse the hum. (Miller's last two male leads, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Brad Pitt, both scored Best Actor nominations.) Channing Tatum co-stars in the film as Schultz's brother, with Sienna Miller and Vanessa Redgrave among the other featured players. "Foxcatcher" is out in limited release on Dec. 20.

UPDATE: The "Foxcatcher" trailer was pulled by Sony Pictures Classics, which they moved the film to an undisclosed release date in 2014. More on that can be found here.
