'RHONJ' Women Confront Penny About Those Cheating Rumors

It may have been the penultimate episode of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" this season, but there were still plenty of fireworks. The drama involving Penny -- the woman who allegedly spread rumors about Melissa Gorga cheating on husband Joe -- came to a head at Kim DePaola's new store opening.

Penny and her husband were also accused of starting rumors that Jacqueline Laurita's son did not have autism. But when the ladies cornered Penny at the party about her gossip-mongering, she quickly pointed the finger back at one of those women.

“I didn’t bash her until you came into the picture, Teresa," Penny told Teresa Giudice. "You knew your sister-in-law was going to be set up. You knew what was going to go down. You wanted to destroy her.”

This has been the running theory for awhile -- that it was really Teresa behind all those rumors about her sister-in-law Melissa. And while The Stir's Julie Ryan Evans didn't want to believe it was true, she thinks the signs are pointing to Teresa's guilt. "Really, where else would Penny be getting all of this information?" Evans asked. "I think it's probably something like Jacqueline suggested -- Teresa started it all and then couldn't stop it when she wanted it [stopped]. Now it's biting her in the ass.”

But, as Buddy TV's Jennifer Lind-Westbrook pointed out, this one ended with the words "to be continued." That means this was "just a warm-up for the main event,” coming in next week's finale.

The season finale of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" airs next Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
