'GTA V' Beating: Tommy Davis, Adele Jones Assault Rohan Dawkins, Who Has Mental Challenges, Over Game

Man With Mental Challenges Beaten Over 'Grand Theft Auto V'

Police in Delray Beach, Fla., got Rohan Dawkins a new copy of "Grand Theft Auto V" after a couple beat him and stole his new video game.

Dawkins, who has mental challenges, was robbed Tuesday in a GameStop parking lot after he bought the game, WPTV reports. He saved up for months with money he made working at Home Depot.

When he walked out of the store, Adele Jones and Tommy Davis began kicking and punching him before stealing the game, police say.

"This is what ticks me off," detective Peter Sosa told the station. "He would come in every week and just give the GameStop 10 dollars toward the new game. And then they took it all from him."

Cops tracked down the pilfering pair using surveillance video. They were both charged with strong-armed robbery and dealing in stolen property.

Davis, 27, and Jones, 26, reportedly sold the game to a third party. On Tuesday, Delray Beach police announced on Facebook that a new copy of the game had been delivered, and that Dawkins would receive it Friday, the Sun Sentinel reports.

The controversial video game, which reportedly racked up $800 million in sales in its first 24 hours on the market, is already causing plenty of real life problems.

In London, a man who bought the game at midnight on Tuesday was attacked, stabbed and robbed on his way home. He was reportedly hit with a brick, stabbed and stripped of the game, his watch and his wallet.
