Megyn Kelly is moving, as expected, to 9 PM, taking Sean Hannity's place. Her show will be called "The Kelly File," confirming recently leaked video that appeared to show two possible intros for the program.
"As the newest edition to the line-up, 'The Kelly File' will focus on late-breaking stories in a live format as well as in-depth investigative reports interspersed with newsmaker interviews," a Fox News press release said.
Hannity is moving to Greta Van Susteren's 10 PM timeslot. Van Susteren is moving to the 7 PM slot formerly occupied by Shep Smith.
Bill O'Reilly, who has been the top-rated host in all of cable news for over a decade, is staying put. Every other hour in primetime, though, will have a new host.
The moves are the biggest shakeup to the Fox News lineup in at least ten years. They put to rest months of speculation about how the network would change its schedule to accommodate the ascension of Kelly, who has become a key face of the channel in the past few years.
Fox News has maintained its overall dominance, but has seen its ratings in the key A25-54 demo fall to their lowest point in 12 years in some recent months. Kelly is one possible answer to that problem.
