Western Union CEO Hikmet Ersek truly believes in a "work hard, play hard" state of mind. At least, that's what he told HuffPost Live host Marc Lamont Hill Wednesday.
"I see my job as a dedication -- part of my life," Ersek said. "So I do really work hard and play hard."
When asked what he looks for most when hiring a new employee, Ersek said they must have "multicultural competence," or the ability to understand the needs, cultures and languages of people around the world.
"Multicultural competence is very important for us because we move money, we move needs between 200 countries all the time." Ersek said. "To understand our customer needs, a leader has to have multi-cultural competence."
Even so, keeping his employees happy is ultimately the most important thing for the former professional basketball player.
Looking for a tangible example? He said you'll find him every Tuesday at 5 p.m. on the basketball courts outside of the office with his employees.
"I really believe if you have fun in life, you perform better also in your professional life," he said.
