Thanks to the modern miracle of free Wi-Fi on Virgin American, I am high above the Midwest on a red-eye flight from Los Angeles -- where it is unusually cool -- to New York, where it's apparently full-on freezing. I'm flying commercial tonight because it is the right thing to do. Also I can't afford to fly private.
