Authorities released the 911 call placed after a college baseball player was shot in the back of the head in Duncan, Okla., on Friday in what media reports are calling an alleged "thrill kill."
"I hear no sirens. I see no lights," Joyce Smith said in the call that can be heard in the video above. "Oh my gosh, how long is it gonna be?"
Fox News reports that Smith "was in her car Friday afternoon when she saw Chris Lane, stagger across the street" before he "collapsed on the side of the road with his back bloodied."
On Tuesday, Chancey Allen Luna, 16, and James Francis Edwards Jr., 15 were charged with first-degree murder. They will be tried as adults, according to the Associated Press. Michael Dewayne Jones, 17, was charged accessory to first-degree murder after the fact and using a vehicle in the discharge of a weapon.
Prosecutors said Lane was killed "to break up the boredom of an Oklahoma summer," the AP reports.
On Tuesday, Prosecutor Jason Hicks gave his version of how Lane lost his life:
In court, Hicks said Luna was sitting in the back seat of a car when he pulled the trigger on a .22 caliber revolver and shot Lane once in the back. Hicks said Jones was driving the vehicle and Edwards was in the passenger seat.
Former Australian Deputy Prime Minister Tim Fischer reacted to Lane's killing by urging a boycott of the U.S. until the country passes stricter gun control laws.
"I am deeply angry about this because of the callous attitude of the three teenagers (but) it's a sign of the proliferation of guns on the ground in the USA," Fischer said this week. "This is the bitter harvest and legacy of the policies of the NRA..."
