Guess Who's Coming Back To 'The Good Wife'

Many guest stars will return for "The Good Wife" Season 5.

In the ETonline video above, series star Julianna Margulies revealed which high-profile guest stars will be back for the upcoming season. Previously announced familiar faces include Carrie Preston, America Ferrera and Gary Cole. Nathan Lane, who received an Emmy nomination for playing Clarke Hayden on "The Good Wife," will likely return to the CBS legal drama as well.

Margulies also said the producers are hoping NBC lets Michael J. Fox return to "The Good Wife" after his new comedy, "The Michael J. Fox Show," wraps. Plus, there's chatter that fans will also see the return of Matthew Perry, who played Mike Kresteva, the Republican candidate for governor who lost to Peter Florrick (Chris Noth). Peter's win makes Alicia (Margulies) the first lady of Illinois and her new position is one reason the character decided to leave Lockhart/Gardner with Cary (Matt Czuchry), Margulies said.

"I really think Alicia is not doing it out of any facetiousness. I think she's doing it out of survival and knowing that she has to get away from Will and out of the shadow of Lockhart/Gardner in order to really commit to being first lady," Margulies told ETonline.

The new season will pick up With Alicia and Cary trying to get the new firm started and Margulies teased, "There's some stuff brewing that I think will be a little explosive."

"The Good Wife" returns Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
