Several of the "Big Brother" contestants continue to display abhorrent behavior in the house. On Wednesday night's episode, Amanda proved completely oblivious to her own shortcomings when it comes to her social game. During the Power of Veto competition, she would not stop antagonizing and harassing Candice -- who definitely took the bait. But later, Amanda seemed to think it was Candice who started it all, and she was just innocent in the whole affair.
The live feeds caught Amanda dropping racist comments against her Asian and African-American roommates last week. During their POV fight, she called Candice "Shanequa" when Candice gave her some attitude -- then asked if that made her racist. Yes, Amanda -- that and plenty of other comments made throughout the season.
This also marks the second week in a row that America's pick for the third nomination has been Amanda. Oblivious as usual, she can't imagine it's America voting, because what could she have possibly done to upset anyone watching the show?
HitFix's Liane Bonin Starr noted how this is affecting Amanda's "showmance" as well. She wrote, "Amanda is a really nasty bully with, apparently, a racist streak. What is WRONG with Amanda? McCrae just wishes she'd shut up. Me, too!”
As bad as it was to watch on television, Buddy TV's John Kubicek said it was even worse on the live feeds. "We didn't even get to see the part where Amanda made comments about [evicted African American houseguest] Howard's genitals (yup, it got THAT ugly).”
Amanda isn't the only one in the house getting herself into trouble. Spencer Clawson was caught on the live feeds making completely inappropriate jokes about child pornography. The comments certainly weren't taken lightly by his hometown police department, who opened up an investigation into him. Meanwhile, his employer has an ongoing probe into his behavior.
The houseguests really have no idea how they're being perceived in the outside world on "Big Brother." Next up is a double elimination on Thursday night's episode. The action continues on Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET, and Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
