What Was Your Midlife Crisis Purchase?

What's going to be your big midlife crisis purchase?

According to WIRED magazine, it very well might be the High Roller Adult Size Big Wheel Drift Trike, designed to carry up to 275 pounds. The only downside? The High Roller fetches a high price: $600. That's a whole lot more than the $15 a Marx Big Wheel used to cost.

If fancy bikes aren't your thing, what else might you spend your money on? A fancy sports car? An exotic vacation? A new hairstyle?

And don't say "nothing." Studies show that at least a third of men in their 40s and 50s admit to forking out big bucks on a new car as a result of a midlife crisis. Women aren't exempt from this transitional period, either, although they are much more likely to switch jobs than they are to make a frivolous purchase.

(A footnote: Women are more likely to go through a midlife crisis earlier than men, often between the ages of 35 and 44.)

We asked our Huff/Post50 Facebook fans about their midlife crisis purchases, and we got a load of responses. To find out what they said, check out the slideshow below. What was your midlife crisis buy? Let us know in comments.
