Lori Tankel, Florida Woman, Gets Death Threats Meant For George Zimmerman

Lori Tankel's phone started ringing off the hook shortly after George Zimmerman was found not guilty on all counts in the killing of Trayvon Martin.

"We're going to kill you, we're going to get you. Watch your back," one caller said to the Winter Park, Fla., resident, according to WFTV.

Tankel's phone number is "one number off from the number Zimmerman used to make his call to police just before he fatally shot Martin," WFTV reports.

The Broward Palm Beach New Times reports that Tankel called authorities to complain but got a "tepid response."

She says the Seminole County Sheriff's Office told her the department itself receives around 400 death threats a minute on social media sites.

"Tankel is being forced to change her number, while feeling like someone is getting away with harassment and death threats because they don't know how to use a dial pad on a phone," writes the Times' Chris Joseph.

The story comes just days after news reports surfaced about George Zimmermann (two "n's"), a Florida preacher who also had to change his number to avoid threats.
