Formerly Paralyzed Dog, Hank, Takes His First Steps (VIDEO)

LOOK: Formerly Paralyzed Dog Takes His First Steps

When Hank missed the front seat jumping into his owner Molly's car, he had to spend a week at the vet's. Molly worried that he could be paralyzed for the rest of his life.

But it only took five months before Hank took his first steps outside.

The 6-year-old dog had previously had problems with hip dysplasia, and after his freak accident, the vet gave him a 60/40 chance of regaining his ability to walk, according to a post on Molly's blog.

Her family and friends helped find Hank a wheelchair so that he'd be able to move around on his own, but Molly says she always knew that he'd be fine regardless of his physical problems.

"I am never upset about it, and here's why.. I knew it was coming and this morning he finally showed me that without a doubt, he's going to be okay," she wrote in a blog post. "Even if he only ever walks in his wheelchair.. this morning, my sweet boy, WAGGED HIS TAIL!"
