Ye Mengyuan, Asiana Flight 214 Victim, Was Killed By Vehicle After Crash

Shocking New Details On Asiana Crash Victim

Officials have confirmed that one of the victims of Asiana Airlines Flight 214, the Boeing 777 jet that crashed at San Francisco International Airport on July 6, was killed after the crash by a rescue vehicle.

San Mateo County Coroner Robert Foucrault disclosed the findings of his autopsy on 16-year-old Chinese student Ye Mengyuan, saying she died of multiple blunt injuries that are consistent with being run over by a motor vehicle, the Associated Press reports.

A press release emailed to The Huffington Post said Mengyuan was killed by a "Fire Department apparatus."

Police and fire officials confirmed last week the student was hit by an emergency vehicle that was racing toward the wreckage. Mengyuan was covered in fire-retardant foam when she was hit, police said, according to AP.

Three people died as a result of Flight 214's crash: two at the scene and one later while in the hospital. More than 180 people were injured in the crash, at least two dozen of them seriously, according to Reuters.
