Kanye West Allegedly Rants About Taylor Swift And Racism In Leaked Recording

Alleged Secret Tape Of Kanye West Ranting About Taylor Swift Leaks

Just one day after Taylor Swift playfully referenced her infamous run in with Kanye West at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, leaked audio allegedly of the rapper ranting about why he interrupted Swift on stage has hit the web.

The tipster who shared the audio with Gawker, claims it was secretly recorded while West was at dinner with friends at the Corner Bistro in New York, right after the 2009 VMAs. In the recording, West -- or someone who sounds like him -- explains why he rushed the stage while Swift was accepting her award for Best Female Video:

"Taylor Swift cannot win over Beyoncé! Because I wrote my verse [to "Run This Town"] in two days, Taylor Swift cannot beat Beyoncé. As long as I'm alive! And if I'm alive, kill me then! Kill me then! As long as I'm alive, you gon' have to deal with it. 'Cause there ain't gonna be no more motherf--king Elvises with no James Browns."

The voice allegedly belonging to West went on say that he was so angry because his mother "got arrested for the f**kin' sit-ins," and died [from complications after undergoing plastic surgery in 2008] "for this fame shit." The rapper then allegedly went on to complain about Pink performing instead of him.

"How the f--k Pink perform two songs and I didn't even get asked to perform "Heartless." "Heartless" is the biggest song of the year!," he complained.

West apologized multiple times to Swift for his interruption, but he's since taken the apology back.

A source close to West who wasn't there that night told The Huffington Post that the clip "sounds staged," but wasn't able to confirm or refute its veracity, while the rapper's label had no immediate comment.
