Rachel Jeantel, the Florida teen who was on the phone with Trayvon Martin just before he died and the star witness for the prosecution in the trial of George Zimmerman, gave a candid interview with CNN's Piers Morgan on Monday night.
Jeantel's testimony stirred controversy and widespread analysis about her demeanor, her diction, her education, and even her intelligence. There was also a great deal of discussion around whether her testimony helped or hurt the prosecution, and with Zimmerman's acquittal, many observers at least partially laid the blame at her feet.
Monday night, she spoke out -- in her own defense, and in Trayvon's, bringing life to the slain teenager, discussing their relationship, his character and expounding on her understanding of what occurred on the night of February 26, 2012.
The Huffington Post watched the interview live, along with many of our followers on Twitter. Check out some of the discussion that took place as Jeantel spoke to the nation.
