Security Forces Fire Tear Gas At Protesters In Cairo

CAIRO, July 15 (Reuters) - Egyptian security forces fired tear gas in central Cairo on Monday after scuffles broke out between supporters of ousted Islamist president Mohamed Mursi and locals in the area of Ramses Street, eye witnesses said.

It was the first violent confrontation involving pro-Mursi protesters for a week. Last Monday, 53 pro-Mursi demonstrators were killed outside the Republican Guard compound in Cairo. Four soldiers also died in the clash. (Reporting by Yasmine Saleh; editing by Mike Collett-White and Kevin Liffey)
