Skittles Body Outline Seen On Brooklyn Sidewalk After George Zimmerman Verdict (PHOTO)

PHOTO: Stirring Trayvon Tribute In Brooklyn

A day after a jury found George Zimmerman not guilty in the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, an outline of a body, drawn in chalk and traced over with Skittles, appeared on a Brooklyn sidewalk:

Martin was shot and killed by Zimmerman when returning to his father's fiance's Florida home after buying Skittles and an iced tea from a 7-Eleven convenience store.

A can of iced tea was next to the sidewalk drawing, seen Sunday on Fulton Street near Throop Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Once we can verify the identity of the artist responsible, we'll update this post. [UPDATE on 7/29/2013: 31-year-old Daryl Smith has been identified as the artist. He lives on Fulton Street in Bed-Stuy.]

Protests broke out across New York City Sunday night in reaction to the Zimmerman verdict. About a dozen people were arrested after clashing with police in Times Square.
