Small-Space Gardening Idea Uses A Trellis To Grow Vegetables Vertically (PHOTO)

LOOK: Yes, You Can Grow Veggies In A Small Space

Many of us aren't lucky enough to have large backyards to grow lush vegetable gardens. But that doesn't mean we can't exercise our green thumbs in the spaces we've got. Besides for tending to sprouts in low pots on our tiny porches and patios, Redditor maxforest shared photos of another small-space gardening solution: using a trellis. The user wrote: "First time growing cucumbers on a trellis, I think they are doing just fine." Taking a look at the photo below, we think you'll agree.

If you're considering growing your garden vertically, Organic Gardening suggests positioning trellises on the north side of your outdoor space so your plants won't cast a shadow on the rest of your patio. Anchor the posts at least 24 inches into soil so they'll stand up to wind and rain.
