Next time your dude looks stupefied by your beauty routine, don't explain to him what you're doing. Turns out, men's curiosity is costing ladies a pretty penny -- over $350 a year, to be exact.
In a survey conducted by Escentual.com, 50 percent of British women confessed to catching men in their lives -- father, husband, boyfriend, brother, etc -- sneakily using approximately $30 worth of their beauty products a month. You could buy a lot of face cream with that.
Even worse, these guys have expensive tastes, pampering themselves with luxury brands like Clarins and Dior. But since a whopping 67.9 percent of women reported that the men in their lives regularly use their moisturizer in particular, here's a list of the top five stolen products:
Top Five Moisturizers Men Are Borrowing
1. Clarins Extra Firming Day Cream
2. La Roche-Posay Effaclar H - Compensating Soothing Moisturizer
3. Vichy Aqualia Thermal 48hr Hydraton for Sensitive Skin Pot
4. Avene Rich Compensating Cream
5. DIOR Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Crème
So why are men so sneaky? The survey reports that they're either too lazy or embarrassed to shop for their own products. But with top tier brands like Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford releasing beauty lines targeted at men and actual male cosmetics becoming increasingly prevalent, we hope guys will soon have the courage to traipse into the pharmacy and purchase their own Clarins cream.
Moral of the story: Hide all of your pricey beauty goods.
But is moisturizer only the gateway drug?
