Regis Philbin's 'Crowd Goes Wild' Debuts August 19

Regis Philbin Preparing To Return To Daily TV

Regis Philbin is preparing to return to daily television when "Crowd Goes Wild," his show on the new Fox Sports 1, debuts in August.

“I kind of enjoyed it, though I don’t know how much [wife] Joy enjoyed it,” he told the New York Post about his time away from daily television. “There were times when I would get a little antsy, when I wondered what I could or should be doing.”

Philbin had expressed those feelings before. "I do feel that I’m not doing everything I should," he once admitted. "I’m not accomplishing anything."

The television host left "Live!" in 2011, after nearly three decades on the show. At the time, he said he was leaving the show, but not retiring altogether. He told the Post that he "really wasn't" looking to return to daily television, but that the opportunity at Fox Sports 1 "caught [his] attention."

Philbin will moderate a panel about sports on "Crowd Goes Wild," which has earned the new program some comparisons to "The View." The Post reported that the show, which Philbin announced in March, will air from a new studio at Chelsea Piers in New York. He will also continue his monthly co-hosting gig with Rachael Ray.
