Odin Lloyd's Sister Feels Like Murder Is 'Just A Bad Dream' As Family, Friends Attend Funeral

'I Feel Like It's Just A Bad Dream'

The family, friends and teammates of Odin Lloyd gathered in Boston on Saturday to pay their respects to the slain 27-year-old semi-pro football player. The body of Lloyd, who had played for the Boston Bandits of the NEFL, was found on June 17 near the home of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez in North Attleborough home, Mass. The 23-year-old NFL star has since been charged with murder in connection with Lloyd's death.

"I'm still trying to process what's going on," Lloyd's sister Olivia Thibou told ABC News. During an emotional interview, Thibou described the panicked moments when she and her mother learned of Lloyd's death. "I feel like I relive every day in my dreams. I go to sleep and I relive everything that's broadcast on TV. I relive the night that we found out. I relive just everything. Even when I'm sleeping at night, I feel like it's just a bad dream I'm not waking up from."

According to prosecutors, Lloyd was exchanging text messages with his sister shortly before he was fatally shot. During an arraignment, prosecutor Bill McCauley said that Hernandez "drove the victim to that remote spot, and then he orchestrated his execution." Hernandez has been denied bail and two other men are in police custody in connection with the case.

"It's confusing," she told ABC. "I don't think there's anything that any man can do to have their life taken away. So I can't even begin to process everything. It still feels like yesterday, that we just found out."

Authorities have said the shooting stemmed from Lloyd talking to some people at a nightclub that Hernandez "had troubles with."

"I do know that they were friends," Thibou told ABC, choosing not to elaborate on the nature of the relationship.

According to The Associated Press, Lloyd was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee. Family and friends of Lloyd told WBZ in Boston that Lloyd began dating the sister of Hernandez's fiance two years ago.

As the police continue to investigate and the family of the victim struggled to come to grips with his Lloyd's death, hundreds turned out for his funeral service at the Church of the Holy Spirit in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston. According to The Associated Press, members of his football team chanted his name as pallbearers placed his casket in the hearse.

"I just want my son to rest in peace," Lloyd's mother, Ursula Ward, said a day before the funeral, via WCVB in Boston.
