'Mistresses' Premiere: Four Women Deal With Various Types Of Infidelity (VIDEO)

'Mistresses' Premiere: Yunjin Kim Sleeps With Her Patient

Based on a British drama of the same name, ABC debuted "Mistresses." The drama follows four women who have been or will be affected by infidelity. Karen (Yunjin Kim, "Lost") had perhaps the most uncomfortable arc in this premiere. She reconnected with her friends after months away during which she was sleeping with one of her married patients.

She was also his psychiatrist, leading to all kinds of legal implications once he died. To make matters worse for her, his family called on her to help them through the grieving process. She confided in her friend April that things had spiraled completely out of her control.

“I convinced myself that it was OK. That we were soulmates," she said. "In the end, he chose his wife. That’s who he wanted to be with in his last moments. Which means the whole time, I was just a mistress."

TVLine declared Kim the biggest hot mess of the "trashy new sudser." But there are many weeks to go this summer to see if her three friends can outdo her -- or perhaps she'll find herself in an even bigger mess. The man's son did ask her out toward the end of this premiere.

According to Hollywood Life, the show might has well have been called "Sex & the Suburbs." At least they believe it should be fun to watch the ladies' lives unravel -- in more ways than one -- through the summer.

"Mistresses" continues on Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
