'The American Baking Competition' Premiere Wows With Bacon Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie (VIDEO)

Five Words: Bacon Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie

The premiere episode CBS' new cooking show, "The American Baking Competition," required the competitors to make pies.

Self-proclaimed redneck Francine knew that the three ingredients most Americans can't live without are bacon, chocolate and peanut butter, which is exactly why she combined the three for her challenge.

Francine grilled British judge Paul Hollywood on whether he'd ever eaten chocolate-covered bacon before, in an encounter that he described as "disturbing." But the end result wasn't disturbing in the least ... after tasting the pie, Paul had to admit, "I absolutely adore it, and that really upsets me a lot.”

The Southern chef's risky choice paid off, and she was named the week's Star Baker.

As for whether the show will be as successful as Francine's pie, only time will tell. TVLatest says it’s “overstuffed” -- there were three challenges in the episode, and that may be too much.

"The American Baking Competition" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
