Beer Thief Confession: Alcohol-Stealing Bandit Leaves Apology Note, Cash For Stolen Booze (VIDEO)

Habitual Beer Thief Leaves Note, Cash

Sometimes, all it takes is an apology.

That's the only thing one Kentucky couple needed to forgive the beer thief who regularly plundered the alcohol stash in their backyard refrigerator for years. The Villa Hills residents were in for quite the surprise last week when they discovered a confession from their beer thief -- along with seven $20 bills ($140) -- on the back patio.

"I was totally shocked that somebody would actually admit to stealing [and] ask for forgiveness," 69-year-old Dee Samad told Cinncinati.com. "I would love to meet him."

Addressed "Dear Homeowner," the note read: "Enclosed is a sum of cash that my friends and I owe you and your family to repay you for all of the times we have stolen from your poolside fridge/bar over the past few years."

As the apology continued, the "Villa Hills Resident" admitted that he is not "honest enough to right this wrong" face-to-face, but he explained that his "newfound understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ" pushed him to repay the couple.

While it's not the most creative apology note we've seen from a remorseful thief, Samad told Cinncinati's WKRC that the man would be welcome in their home anytime.
