Taco Bell Surprises Othello, Washington, Teen Zeke Castro With Local Franchise After He Asks For It (VIDEO)

WATCH: Taco Bell Made Teen SO Happy

Zeke Castro thought he was just getting free tacos from the Taco Bell truck visiting Othello, Wash., on Saturday. Instead he got the whole enchilada.

Responding to numerous requests the local teen made to the chain last summer, Taco Bell announced it was breaking ground on a new franchise in the town, according to Newstalk 870 AM.

"The tears were barely there. Just, I just tried to keep cool," Castro told TV station KEPR about the Taco Bell opening. "I'm very excited."

Castro had emailed and called Taco Bell to build an outlet in Othello, a city with a population of about 7,400. According to 870 AM, many residents would previously get their Taco Bell fix in Moses Lake, Wash., a considerable drive away.

The fast food road crew's appearance in Othello was billed as a handout of Doritos Locos tacos until 1:30 p.m., the Tri-City Herald reported. Then came the news that local franchisee Craig Langel would open a store by fall.

Langel told KEPR he was happy to make Castro's request a reality.

"It is so amazing to bring his dream come true and to bring tacos where they haven't been before," Langel said.

Taco Bell has gotten considerable PR mileage out of its road visits to towns without a franchise. In 2012, it airlifted 10,000 tacos to the remote town of Bethel, Alaska, after a hoax that a location was opening there.
