LOOK: Stunned Maple Leafs Fans React To Bruins' Rally

Maple Leafs fans gathered in downtown Toronto on Monday for what they hoped would be a night to remember. Although they may never forget it, this historic 5-4 defeat was not what they had in mind. Having won back-to-back games against the Boston Bruins to force a Game 7 in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series, the Leafs were aiming to wrap up an impressive Stanley Cup Playoffs comeback. The crowd in Maple Leafs Square was eager to celebrate it, too.

Although the Bruins opened up the scoring at TD Garden, the Leafs would put the next four goals on the board. The scene in Maple Leafs Square was euphoric. With 11 minutes remaining, Toronto held a 4-1 lead and some fans at TD Garden in Boston were heading for the exits.

Bruins center Patrice Bergeron and his teammates made those fans regret their decision to leave early. They also may have made a few of those Toronto fans gathered downtown wish they'd stayed at home. The Bruins scored three third period goals to force overtime and Bergeron sealed the stunning rally with a game-winner in the extra session.
