The 10 Best Whiskey Bars In America

In the market for a good spot to quaff quality whiskey? Best consult GQ magazine's just-released list of the 10 best whiskey joints in the U.S.

The May 2013 article, "The New Whiskey Rebellion," notes whiskey is having a moment -- today, there are at least twice as many whiskey distilleries in America than there were three years ago. With that change comes reinvigorated appetites for the stuff, a fact made clear by the popularity of whiskey bars around the country.

GQ Assistant Editor Mark Byrne swung by HuffPost Live earlier this week to talk about the history of American whiskey -- and the lingering effects of Prohibition -- which we heartily recommend you check out in the above video.

Here are the 10 bars that made the GQ's cut:

Ward III, New York, N.Y.
Rickhouse, San Francisco, Calif.
Saloon, Somerville, Mass.
Longman & Eagle, Chicago, Ill.
The Silver Dollar, Louisville, Ky.
Fig, Charleston, S.C.
The Woodsman Tavern, Portland, Ore.
Maysville, New York, N.Y.
Seven Grand, Los Angeles, Calif.
Drumbar, Chicago, Ill.
