Jon Hamm On The Secrecy Of Linda Cardellini's 'Mad Men' Role

Jon Hamm dropped by "The Daily Show" where he talked about the secrecy surrounding Linda Cardellini's guest role on "Mad Men." Jon Stewart couldn't wrap his head around the former "Freaks and Geeks" star even being on the show. He can't forget her as high school student Lindsay Weir.

"We’re gonna work our way through iconic television shows, I think, by the time we’re done," Hamm joked.

Cardellini actually had just had a baby when they started filming. As Hamm explained, it was astonishing what she was able to juggle at that time. "Not only was she managing being on the show, not telling anybody she was on the show, including family and friends, but also dealing with an infant," he said. "I was amazed she could show up to work in the morning much less be as good as she is."

But Cardellini isn't the only one being kept busy. Having just wrapped filming on Season 6 of "Mad Men," Hamm's next role will be as host of the ESPY Awards on July 17 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.

As for his alter ego, critics aren't sure if Don Draper will ever be satisfied, as exemplified by his latest affair with Cardelinni's character. And they're wondering what the future holds for her character, now that these neighbors have become lovers.

Find out by tuning in to "Mad Men" on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on AMC. "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" airs every weeknight at 11 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
