It's not exactly a collaboration, but The Wanted looked to none other than Rihanna for inspiration when it came to making their new single. "She Walks Like Rihanna" promises to be a jingly pop hit that affably bridges the gap between The Wanted's clean image and Rihanna's strippers-on-Instagram party vibe.
"We are really excited about this single," The Wanted's Tom Parker said of the Dr. Luke-produced song. "We feel it's a little different from the usual Wanted sound, we've stripped it back to pure pop, it's just a feel-good, fun track. Fun is a good word to describe the video too. Let's just say it's got a lot of character."
Rihanna is sure to be excited by the news, too. At press time, potential social media postings include:
- An Instagram photo of the single art with the caption, "#phuckyosongtitles"
- A series of tweets, each at a different member of The Wanted, in which she invokes the song title and says she will, indeed, walk like Rihanna with said young singer
- A series of tweets at One Direction members mocking them for not having her in a song title yet
- A topless Instagram photo that makes no mention of the song or The Wanted
One awkward caveat: The subject of The Wanted single is described as not being able to sing or dance, but hopefully Rihanna won't mind. After all, she's pretty good at finding the positives in otherwise unfortunate situations (see: Chris Brown).
