'Man Of Tai Chi' Trailer: Keanu Reeves' Directorial Debut Is Heavy On Martial-Arts Action

Keanu Reeves is putting his "Matrix" skills where his mouth is, directing a new martial arts movie called "Man of Tai Chi." The first trailer for the film has made its way online, and while we don't learn many specifics about its plot, the movie is certainly heavy on high-voltage action.

The Chinese-language "Man of Tai Chi" marks Reeves' directorial debut, as well as one of two movies this year that feature the "Speed" actor in roles centering on Asian fighting traditions. The other is "47 Ronin," about 18th-century Japanese samurai, which is slated for a December release.

What we do know about the plot is that Reeves plays a villain who forces people to fight each other to their death. Beyond that, the most we get about "Tai Chi" comes via voice-over from Reeves: "How would you like to test how good you are? No referees, no rules, pure fighting, man-to-man. But to watch a person's life evolve and change, that is what I offer."

"Tai Chi" co-stars Karen Mok ("Around the World in 80 Days") and Iko Uwais ("The Raid"). If you like modern-day kung fu and grandiose scenery, it's the movie for you. Watch the trailer above.
