John Kerry On Boston Marathon Bombing: 'Patriots Day ...Turned Into Bloody Mayhem' (VIDEO)

John Kerry Gets Emotional While Commenting On The Boston Marathon Bombing

Secretary of State John Kerry started Wednesday's House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing by addressing the bombing of the Boston Marathon.

"It's impossible for me to express my sadness and anger," Kerry said. "It's just hard to believe that Patriots Day Holiday ... turned into bloody mayhem."

Kerry served as a United States senator for Massachusetts from 1985 until 2013, when he was confirmed as secretary of state.

"Boston is not going to be intimidated by this," Kerry said. "We are going to find out who did this."

Three people have died and more than 170 people were injured in the Boston Marathon bombing, in which two explosions detonated near the race's finish line on Monday.
