Man Dies After Being Dragged 2 Blocks By Hit-And-Run Driver

A 40-year-old suburban Chicago man died early Thursday after being struck and dragged about two blocks by a hit-and-run driver.

Billy Taylor, of Hazel Crest, Ill., was hit by a vehicle around 4:20 a.m. Thursday morning in the 900 block of West Division on Goose Island, according to ABC Chicago.

He was dragged 1,115 feet west on Division from where he was first struck and found at the bridge, the Chicago Tribune reports. He was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead there at 8:12 a.m.

Police are now seeking the driver of the dark blue or black Hyundai Sonata, model year between 2010 and 2013, that struck the man. They are urging anyone with information to call investigators at 312-745-4521.
