Marty Foster Call: Joe Nathan's Strike 3 On Ben Zobrist Way Outside (VIDEO)

With one absurdly bad call in the books, it is officially baseball season!

The Rangers were leading 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth but the Rays were threatening. With a runner on first base, Tampa Bay's Ben Zobrist worked the count full against closer Joe Nathan. Nathan's 3-2 pitch was low and away, and may have even hit the dirt as Rangers catcher A.J. Pierzynski. But...

Umpire Marty Foster signaled for strike three. Game over. Rangers win.

Zobrist stood there shocked as Rays manager Joe Maddon ran out to argue. Nathan looked as surprised as his strikeout victim, mouthing "wow" as he walked off the mound.

With a bit of help from Foster, Nathan notched his 300th career save.

Following the game, and more arguing from Maddon, Foster admitted he made a mistake.

"I saw the pitch and of course don't have the chance to do it again," Foster said after the game, via the Associated Press. "But had I had a chance to do it again, I wouldn't call that pitch a strike."

Maddon was so mad he even tweeted about it.
