Aspen Ski Resort Won't Hire Any More Foreign Workers

Fifty-seven international ski instructors were told on Sept. 18 that Aspen Skiing Co. was no longer planning to hire them for the winter season through the H-2B seasonal work visa program.

The company cited a change in federal regulation that makes it more expensive to use the H-2B visa program, the high unemployment rate in the U.S. and availability of domestic workers, and the likely prospect of business being down this winter.
