'The Voice' Premiere: Shakira And Usher Find Their Own Voices (VIDEO)

'The Voice': Shakira And Usher Have Their Own Pitches

"The Voice" returned for Season 4 with a slightly different look. Gone were Cee Lo Green and his menagerie of animal sidekicks. Gone were Christina Aguilera and her unitards. Comparatively, their replacements were rather subdued, if no less passionate about their work. Shakira and Usher proved not only that they could hang with the veterans on the panel, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, but they've even got their own sales pitches down already.

Shakira was all about girl power, colorful language and metaphors. She told one contestant, "Make sure that you’re gonna pick the coach that’s gonna be positive, [have] the most faith in you. Faith is the engine, and I have that faith in your talent."

Usher, on the other hand, tried acting smooth and laid back, offered them the world, and when that didn't work, he offered them Justin Bieber. "It may be an obvious play for me to speak of Justin Bieber when I’m sitting here," he said, leading to an immediate groan from the other coaches. Wonder how many more times the Biebs will come up throughout the season.

MTV was impressed with the duo, calling them a "natural fit" that will only get better as "The Voice" season continues, Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
