Reality TV stardom is typically not for the publicity-shy. In fact, we'd be hard-pressed to find a reality personality who just hates attention. But Sean Lowe, who not only finished up a highly rated season as "The Bachelor," but has now signed on for the upcoming season of "Dancing With the Stars," says that's one aspect of the aforementioned two gigs of which he's not a fan.

"I've always said that I'm not looking for fame," Lowe told reporters on Tuesday, according to Us Weekly. "In fact, I don't like the fame aspect of being the Bachelor or being on Dancing With the Stars. I wish I could -- you know, I can't go out in Dallas with my buddies anymore because I'm left taking pictures the whole night because people -- you know, they recognize me and they want to take pictures."

But fortunately his new fiancee, Catherine Giudici, approves of his next endeavor.

"I don't want the fame itself, but when an opportunity like Dancing With the Stars comes along, it's too good to pass up," he added. "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. And I wouldn't have taken it had Catherine not been okay with it. She is fully supporting me. She's in my corner. She's going to be along in this crazy ride with me."

Lowe, 29, recently told The Huffington Post that he and Giudici are keeping things low-key. As for their first "public" date after having to keep their relationship under wraps for the sake of the show, Lowe said:

"You know we don't really have anything planned. We said all along that we just want to be normal, so that may be taking a walk in the park with my dogs, holding hands or just grabbing a bite to eat at a restaurant or going to a movie. Something very normal."
