Rihanna Cancels Concert In Boston Over Laryngitis

Rihanna Cancels Her Boston Show

Rihanna had to back out of a concert this weekend due to a case of laryngitis.

Rihanna canceled her Boston show because of a bout of laryngitis on Sunday, according to TMZ. The "Diamonds" singer was set to perform at the TD Garden arena, but Live Nation postponed the show, saying, "Unfortunately, following her sold-out concert on Friday, Rihanna has contracted laryngitis and per doctor's instruction is unable to perform this evening."

The 25-year-old took to Twitter to break the news to fans.

The Boston Herald reports that fans are being told to hold onto their tickets until the show is rescheduled.

Rihanna kicked off her Diamonds World Tour in Buffalo on March 8, notes Rolling Stone. Rihanna's next show, set for Tuesday in Baltimore, is expected to go on as scheduled. The Barbadian singer has performances lined up through June.

After this tour, Rihanna is reportedly ready to take a break from the music biz and kick back.

"She's been in this go mode for a while," Ryan Seacrest said on his morning radio show this week, according to NME. "Seven hit records in seven years. Sold-out tours, but sources say after this tour wraps, she plans to take up to a year off to unwind."
