White House Press Secretary Burns George Will

White House press secretary Jay Carney mocked George Will on Monday after the commentator's recent quip about him.

On Friday, Will dismissed Carney's warning that the sequester cuts will hurt the middle class and jobs, saying, "I will do many things for my country and my profession. I will not take seriously Mr. Carney."

When asked to respond to the comment at Monday's White House briefing, Carney laughed. "I love the structure of the sentence," he said. "It's very George Willian."

Carney continued, "Despite the fact that a few days before the election, I think he predicted a Romney landslide very confidently on TV — 321 to 217 over the president, built on a victory in Minn, which the president ended up winning by more than 7 percent — I will continue to take George Will seriously."
