Givenchy Fall 2013 Hair Will Change Your Beauty Routine (PHOTOS)

How The Givenchy Runway Will Change Your Hair Routine

With Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Nicole Richie and Ciara rubbing bold shoulders on the front row at Givenchy's fall 2013 show, it was hard to focus on the runway. That is, until the models stepped out wearing cotton candy-colored pin curls.

Running with Riccardo Tisci's Roman Empire-inspired collection (sophisticated layers of floral prints, black chiffon and biker jackets), hairstylist Luigi Murenu looped the girls' hair into a thick layer of pin curls that resembled rosebuds. While we certainly applaud Murenu's historical nod to ancient statues of patrician Roman women, we also give the hair pro props for re-introducing the masses to one of our favorite no-heat styling tricks.

Pin curls are a simple (and less-damaging) alternative to curling and flat irons. Before going to bed, roll up your hair into ringlets with your fingers, pin down to the scalp using bobby pins and wrap your head with a satin or silk scarf. When you wake up in the morning, remove the hair pins and finger comb for a loose, tousled look. Or gently brush through for a voluminous finish.

Would you wear a head full of pin curls to work? Or would you keep this look under wraps at home? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section, and keep scrolling down for photos from Givenchy's fall 2013 show.
